Given the vast amount of support and contact we’ve received over the last week, we thought it would be a great idea to start adding a blog to our website. This hopefully means that you won’t get swamped on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with posts but keeps you up to date with what we’ve been doing.
The reponse we’ve had to Sarah’s appeal to raise £750,000 has been overwhelming to say the least. With offers of auction promises, events, donations and messages of support, the whole family have been truly overwhelmed – how on earth do we begin to thank everyone!
But we wanted to let you know about highlights from the weekend. Firstly on Saturday we were invited to Bridgnorth RFC ground for their VP lunch with 250 in attendance. A raffle, auctioned promises and a proportion of the gate fee gave a total raised of £2,845 – all passed to Rupert. Phil Jeffries played the choir master for a rendition on “Rupert the Bear” to fulfil the #RupertChallenge and with the actual Rupert the Bear at his side it made for an outstanding occasion.. this was all topped off with a win for the home team – thank you and well done BRFC!
On Sunday, Hopton Simulated Games raised £7,300. The Clulee girls and friends also raised just over £300 from a raffle which took the total to just over £7,600! This means they achieved over 1% of the amount needed for Rupert’s treatment. Another 99 events like this and Rupert will get the treatment he needs! Thank you to everyone involved here – we know there was a great deal of work done to make this happen – sorry we couldn’t be there!
Looking forward, we’ll be adding the crowdfunding total along with the amounts going directly to Rupert here on the site so watch this space for updates.
