Better late than never!

Hi there Ruperteers. We must start with an apology for the delay in publishing this blog; we’ve had a deluge of complaints (well 1 from Mrs McScience), so we know you’ve missed it and we promise not to do it again (unless we have a really good excuse anyway).

On the last day of August, Olivia and her team representing the National Citizens Service held a Football Tournament at The Severn Centre in Highley, raising a fantastic £420 – thanks guys! We had lots of interest in this event so clearly football and tournaments is a real winner given Rob Edwards success earlier in the year 😊

The next event was a Tough Mudder on 9th September, at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. Alex Brookes, Jordan Cheshire, George Brown and Zach Walker took part and completed the challenge in 3.5 hours. Now to their next endeavour – collecting the sponsorship, good luck with that one 😊

On to other random acts of kindness; we’ve heard on the grapevine that Corrine Fellows was the big 6, 0 last month and she very kindly asked for donations to Rupert rather than gifts raising £435 – amazingly generous, thank you very much indeed. And there’s the story of Rhian and Stan Smith who raised £500 at their 50th Wedding Anniversary party, WOW, such a generous lot!

Talking of WOW, we had the final figure in from WOW Hair and Beauty following their fundraising day – a wonderful £308.82 has been banked – thanks to all involved.

If anyone was wondering how John Glover got on in the Wolverhampton Half Marathon; a very nasty cold prevented him from taking part but he tells us he’ll be entering the Manchester version of the event later in the year.

Next week we’ll have an update on the Golf Day and other exciting things (like a little West End Show) but the focus this week must be to get your tickets for the comedy night – click here for more information
