Having entered the festive season thinking we were in for a quiet one, we soon realised this wasn’t to be the case – it doesn’t stop with you wonderful folks, how can we thank you enough? Well let’s try now:
Just before Christmas we had news from “Bridgnorth Sings for Rupert” on the final amount raised which totalled £18,447.64 – what a tremendous amount of money and a huge thank you again to all involved in this event! Sally and her team wanted to get a cheque presented between Christmas and New Year but unfortunately, we couldn’t make this happen; hopefully we’ll get together in January.
On the Saturday before Christmas Chelmarsh Sports and Social Club held a Christmas Party raising £301.10 – did you know this brings the amount raised by this village for Rupert to £9k – wowzers, amazing! Thank you everyone 😊 We should also mention that we had the pleasure of taking receipt of a fabulous Reindeer Cake from “Baked with Love”, generously donated by Linda for this event. This is the 2nd cake she’s donated to Rupert – thank you so much!
On the same day we had news from Dawn Jones on Facebook about some very special carol singers who made her mum’s wish come true! Dawn’s step dad very generously donated £100 to Rupert as a thank you to these wonderful singers – special thanks to Teagan, Helen and Keala Manns, Nina Smart and Children, Georgia and Jake, Julian, Edward and their mum Esteriz, Jane Phillips and Sam & Charlotte Draper (apologies for any misspelling of names, as always).
And on the same night, ExpressFit of Bridgnorth had a raffle at their Christmas party raising £320, they’ve also let us know that Rupert’s Revenge will be their chosen charitable cause for 2018 – thanks guys!
We also found out that Abacus Hair in Bewdley intend to do a sponsored skydive for Rupert (rather you than me!) – thanks for your support!
We had the final total in from the Berriman Eaton Bakeoff which raised £71.90, massive thanks to Bruce and the team for supporting the fund!
And we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported Rupert by donating Christmas card money – a special mention to one person in particular; a lady from Yorkshire called Sue Pratt who sent £50 in cash for us to bank – thanks Sue 😊
Finally, a brief update on Rupert’s treatment. Thankfully Rupert and his Mummy & Daddy returned from Barcelona just in time for Christmas much to the delight of Rupert’s sisters and brother! He is scheduled to return in the middle of this month with his Mummy, but they are desperately trying to find accommodation for the 6 months they will need to spend there. If anyone has any contacts, suggestions, ideas about accommodation during this time they would be gratefully received – please email [email protected] thank you and goodnight!
